I’ve shared our playroom before, so you may have seen a few different variations of it as we’ve moved it around quite a bit after we’ve moved in. We finally found a configuration and toy storage that works for us but one thing that I wanted to update was the paint. As much as I love the gray for the rest of the house, it seemed a bit dark and dull for the playroom which I wanted to keep bright and fun. Not to mention, what better time than right before the new year – because I got a sneak peak of the Clark+Kensington 2020 Color Trends!

I am a fan of our Ace Hardware store as they are owned and operated by local entrepreneurs and I’m all about supporting local businesses! Their line of paint, Clark+Kensington, has a huge selection of colors and I love that they are paint and primer in one, which cuts down on the work and cost! You can even head to The Paint Studio online before you visit the store to get a feel for what colors you are interested in.
I knew I wanted white, but I did want something different than just a bright white. They had so many great colors to choose from! I ended up choosing “Frost CW-C3,” which you can see has a bit of a blue undertone and I thought it would be the perfect shade to brighten up the playroom but also give it a modern touch.

I do love gray in our home, but I didn’t feel like it went with the theme or decor of the playroom. It also gets a bit dark in that room, so I knew I wanted to brighten it up since our girls do spend a lot of time playing here.
Clark + Kensington Eggshell Paint in Frost
It’s always exciting cracking open a new can of paint and putting on that first coat, right? I loved that the paint is low VOC and dried in only a few hours! It was so easy to apply and had great coverage
Ace Hardware is a great place to shop for everything. I was able to grab several other things that I needed as we are working on quite a few home projects right now. They really have almost everything you need to fix, repair and maintain your home and the associates are so helpful, especially for someone like me who doesn’t always know my way around a hardware store!
What I love is that you even buy most items online and pick up in store. It makes shopping that much faster and easier! I don’t have tons of time to wander around the store looking for what I need so this worked perfect for me.
Kid’s Playroom AFTER
Here it is AFTER! Don’t you love how much it brightens the room? I also love that it’s not a super bright white. The color has a mint undertone which goes well with the colors in our room and even our couch!
This color is part of the Remastered Home palette, which is full of rich and bold tones for a nostalgic, yet fresh feel. You’ll be seeing a lot more from this color palette next year – it’s one of the three upcoming Clark+Kensington’s Color Trends palettes coming out in 2020 It perfectly fits my home as this is a much older home but was remodeled about a year ago when we moved in. I love having the older home feel but with the modern, updated touches.
