5 easy ways to update your home for spring

I love to not only update my wardrobe for spring but I also love spring home decor. When you brighten up your home with florals and bright colors, it really helps you out of those “winter blues” and look forward to the warmer weather.

5 easy ways to update your home for spring

Target is my go to for affordable home decor. I invest in furniture and art for my home but when it comes to seasonal decor, you don’t need to spend a lot.

Add color and florals

Fresh flowers are always great but the maintenance and then having to replace them weekly is costly and time consuming. I love faux flowers to help brighten up a room with very low maintenance.

Peonies are my favorite and the season for real peonies is so short, so faux is the way to go! You can arrange them yourself or there are a lot of great pre-made arrangements you can buy. Also, don’t forget faux plants! They are so well made now. I have both real and faux plants in my house and nobody can ever tell the difference.

BASKET || FLOWERS

Placing them in baskets makes it look very spring but I also love the idea of baskets just to add a different texture in your room. You can store other things in there like pillows or blankets or, if you have kids, stash their toys in there!

Brighten up your front door

There’s just something about decorating my front door that I love. The easiest way to update it is with a Welcome Mat!

WATERMELON DOORMAT

I love these colorful and affordable options. They are so affordable, might as well buy two to switch out just to mix things up once in awhile!

FLORAL DOORMAT

I layered this one with a checkered doormat as I liked that it gave it a bit of dimension. Don’t be afraid to layer and mix things up for your decor, the smallest things can make the biggest difference.

Bring dimension to your walls

Changing up art is relatively easy as long as you have one blank wall that you can keep the nail in the same place. I switch out things like canvases, to framed prints but I’ve really been loving these tapestry wall hangings that really bring a different dimension to your walls.

RAINBOW TAPESTRY

Our walls are gray, so the white rainbow would really pop out but if your walls are white, look for something like the one behind it where it’s got some color and different textures.

Hide that clutter

The clutter in my house mostly comes from my kids. Not to say my husband and I don’t have clutter but it would be a lot smaller if we didn’t have two little ones and lots of toys, books and everything else that kids need!

PINK BASKET || RAINBOW BASKET

I already own these baskets and highly recommend them. I love the large size, how many toys they fit in it and that they are the perfect height so that your kids can not only help put away their toys but easily dig around and find what they want too.

Use the same style bins for organizing

Half the battle of decorating your home is just cleaning and organizing! I have been buying up these bins like crazy because not only do they come in a variety of sizes, they are great for organizing everything.

I have organized my linen closet, my pantry, my bathroom, my kids bathroom and so much more with these! And they are so inexpensive! I just like that they match and so when you open up the closet, it looks nice and not a bunch a mis-matched items all jumbled together.
