The new year quickly approaching always has me thinking about a fresh start. From inexpensive ways to decorate your walls to organizing and clearing out the clutter, I’m ready to do it all. Starting with the most used room in our home…the kitchen!
KITCHEN ORGANIZATION IDEAS TO INSPIRE YOU FOR THE NEW YEAR
PANTRY ORGANIZATION
Can you say #pantrygoals? These inspiration photos below have me motivated to tackle my pantry, label everything and even color code.
Take everything out of their packages
My kids love snacks and cereals but the different bags and boxes drive me crazy. Having matching containers for these things have helped us stay organized and the kids love to be able to see their snacks easily too!
Pinterest worthy kitchen storage ideas
Don’t feel like you have to stick to just one type of container. Mix and match with different textures Here’s a few that would go well together
- Plastic containers and woven baskets
- Wire baskets with glass bottles
- Glass containers with wooden baskets
How gorgeous is this black and white pantry? Love this modern style. And the below pantry even has room for their coffee maker! Such a great way to hide your kitchen appliances and declutter your kitchen countertops.
FRIDGE ORGANIZATION
A clean, organized fridge is truly one of the best feelings! It makes me and my family eat healthier and have less waste as we can truly see everything we have.
Group foods by category
Although these photos are beautiful, I don’t find them realistic as I don’t tend to buy that many pieces of fruit or veggies to group together. However I find that keeping things together in categories helps me when I go to cook so I’m not searching for the item in my fridge.
Fridge organization for your kids
I keep specific shelves and containers for my kids items – like their yogurt, drinks and string cheese. Keeping these in the same spot really helps as my oldest is able to grab whatever she likes out of the fridge and she knows exactly where to look.
Organizing drinks and bottles
The hardest part of organizing are the weird shapes, especially bottles! Bottle organizers that allow you to stack really bring so much more room to your fridge.
If you meal prep – this is perfection! I love how the containers stack perfectly.
CABINET/DRAWER ORGANIZATION
Cabinets and drawers are one of the easiest areas to get cluttered in a kitchen…as they are hidden behind a door. These ideas below have me dreaming of all of the possibilities of how we could organize these smaller spaces in our kitchen.
Labels for everything
Don’t forget when you take everything out of the bag to label it! Also include the expiration date (or if you don’t have that, the date you put it in the container) so you know when to toss it!
A designated and organized tupperware cabinet? Sounds like a dream!
Categorize drawers by type
Love the idea of a spice drawer! Find the best drawers in your kitchen that you can use to organize. Here are a few ideas that you can organize in your drawers:
- Small baking tools
- Kitchen utensils
- Tupperware lids
- Kitchen towels and oven mitts
- Kid’s drawers – keep their plates, bowls and silverware in one!
Another idea: coffee station inside of a drawer = genius!
